What you see, and what you never see
You get records of work drives in your vehicles, and of drives your people claim for reimbursement. Where they go on their own time stays theirs.
You see
- Each business drive's date, distance, category, and purpose
- Its job or client label, and the start and end area (a neighbourhood, never an address)
- Monthly totals for personal and commute use of company vehicles
- Odometer readings and untracked distance per vehicle
You never see
- Live location, routes, or pins on a map
- Addresses, or where anyone parks
- When or where personal drives happen
- Gig work or earnings
- Anything in an employee's own car that they haven't claimed
A record both sides trust
The driver classifies
Only the person driving marks a drive business, personal, or commute. You can question a drive, and only they can change it.
Every change is kept
Each drive keeps its history, so you can see what changed and when.
Drivers see your view
Anyone on your team can open an exact preview of what you see about them, at any time.
Numbers you can reconcile
- Car Bluetooth suggests which vehicle, and the driver confirms. It never adds or removes distance.
- A monthly odometer photo, read on the phone and confirmed by the driver, is compared with logged distance.
- The gap shows as untracked distance, so you never trust a total that's quietly incomplete.
- Two people in one vehicle: the drive counts once.
Ready for your accountant
Give your accountant or bookkeeper read-only access with exports. They get the figures, per vehicle, for the year.
United States
- Business-use percentage per vehicle
- Personal-use figures for company vehicles (personal miles, commuting days, total miles), to value the benefit
Canada
- Business-use percentage per vehicle
- Standby charge and operating cost benefit inputs for company vehicles (personal km, total km, days available)
- Allowances at the CRA's reasonable per-km rates for employees' own cars
Rates are kept by effective date, never hard-coded. Trippie gives figures and inputs, not tax advice.
What we don't build, on purpose
- Live map
- Trip replay
- Dispatch
- Geofence alerts
- Driver scoring
- Tracking hardware
If you need to watch vehicles in real time, you need a telematics system. Trippie is for records, and your drivers won't feel watched.
Some provinces and states require employers to tell employees in writing about electronic monitoring. Team plans will include a template notice you can adapt.
Priced per vehicle
One monthly price per vehicle, paid by the business on the web. Your drivers use the app under your plan. We'll set the price with early-access businesses before team plans open.
