Your mileage log, kept for you.

Trippie notices every drive. Tap business, personal, or commute at your next stop, and your tax log builds itself.

For the self-employed and anyone with a side business: trades, realtors, sales reps, contractors, and owners with a work vehicle or two.

Every drive, sorted in one tap

Trippie records each drive from the moment you pull away to when you park. When you stop, one tap says what it was. Drives you haven't sorted wait in a short list.

A sample Tuesday

Set it up once. Then just drive.

    You choose how it tracks

Detect every drive, or only the ones you start. Setup asks, and neither is the default. Pause it anytime, and a paused stretch records nothing.

One tap at your next stop

Mark a drive business, personal, or commute once you've parked, never while you're driving. Or let your own rules do it: work hours, places, or a vehicle that's always for work.

    A log that holds up

Every business drive with its date, distance, purpose, and area. Add odometer readings for each vehicle and you get its business-use percentage for the year.

    Your personal drives stay yours

    • Routes and places stay on your phone. Our servers never get your routes or addresses.
    • A personal drive reaches our servers as a date, a distance, a vehicle, and the word “personal”. Nothing about where you went.
    • Only you decide what's personal. Trippie never guesses it for you.
    • Home and any place you choose become privacy zones, where routes are cut off.

Records for the IRS and the CRA

    United States

    • A mileage log with the date, miles, business purpose, and destination area of each drive
    • The standard mileage rate in effect on each drive's date
    • Business-use percentage for each vehicle
    • Employees: unreimbursed mileage generally isn't deductible, so the log backs up a reimbursement claim to your employer

    Canada

    • A CRA vehicle logbook
    • Business-use percentage, to apply to your actual vehicle expenses (the CRA doesn't allow a per-km rate if you're self-employed)
    • A T2125 motor vehicle expenses summary

Commute is left out by default, and every report says which kinds of drives it counted. Trippie keeps records. It doesn't give tax advice.
